This is a really, really tiny dictionary, and the font is really, really tiny, too. If you have bad vision, I can’t recommend it.
But if you have bionic eyes, go for it! Random House Webster’s Pocket German Dictionary is extremely light and great for carting around on New York City subways, and has a lot of information packed into a small space.
Some people have gone totally electronic, rendering considerations of dictionary size and weight moot, but I am not keen on electronic dictionary apps. By the time I enter my iPhone password and open the app, I could have found the word in a paper dictionary.
That is why I am still carrying around paper dictionaries, and that is why for me, size matters.
Note: My copy of the Pocket German Dictionary has a copyright date of 1996, but every version I see online says 1998. I don’t know what to make of that.
